About the Salida Fiber Festival
The Salida Fiber Festival was “hatched” after a group of friends attended the Taos Wool Festival together in 201. We thought “why can’t we have a fiber festival of our own?”; after all, Salida and the surrounding area is home to numerous Alpaca, Llama, Sheep and Paco-Vicunas, and fiber enthusiasts are abundant.
From that first festival, we knew offering food and beverages (including beer and wine) would not only be nice for those attendingthe event, but for our vendors and volunteers as well. Proceeds from the Silent Auction tent help keep our vendor fees down by covering some of our expenses, and offer a chance for some friendly competitive consumerism. The activities tent is a great place for you and your child (or charge) to learn a new skillor craft. There’s always someone to watch with a spinning wheel or drop spindle.
