The Social Media Manager  will work closely with the Marketing and PR Manager to assist with the creation and execution of design solutions including imagery, multimedia elements used for marketing, advertising, and other forms of communication.  This position will focus on social media communications, and is a behind the scenes position and not a Board seat.

The Salida Fiber Festival is held the first weekend after Labor Day, making the bulk of the work for both these positions centered around May-October.

  • The main responsibility of this position is to create digital assets (static, video, and HTML) for a range of platforms to promote the festival, festival events/activities, festival vendors and festival sponsors. 

  • Use social media marketing tools to develop and maintain the festival's brand, highlight sponsors, vendors, and festival activities. 

Skills/Requirements/Experience:

  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, bonus if familiar with Ravelry)

  • Excellent writing skills 

  • Expertise with standard digital design tools, including Sketch, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe XD, InVision, Canva, etc.

  • A good understanding of visual design principles.

  • Proven digital content skills.

  • Experience with SquareSpace or similar is a bonus.
